The Difference
What separates O'Neill Marine's product from the rest of the dock building industry is the way our docks are constructed. As you will see, every detail of our docks is designed for both strength and longevity.

Frames - We typically make our steel frames from 2"x2"x3/16" angle iron as top and bottom chords. We finish off the framing by welding a ½" diameter steel rod diagonally between the top and bottom chords every 12".

Corners - Our corners are designed for the side pieces and end pieces to fit together like a puzzle and slide into place. The end result after welding the pieces together is a corner that is extremely strong and rigid.
Hinges - We typically put two hinges between adjoining sections of dock. The hinges are made from ½" and ¾" flat steel with a simple yet durable ½" fastening pin going through the hole connecting the two. Our pin is what makes our hinges stronger than the rest. Because it is ½" thick, the pin is as strong as the rest of the dock, and no pin has ever broken.

Floats - The trapezoidal profile of the floats allow the docks to rise to the surface in freezing water. Therefore in locations of relatively minimal ice flow, O’Neill docks can be left in the water year round.
Transition Plates - Our transition plate is the piece of diamond plate aluminum or steel that bridges the gap between any separated sections or from a gangway or bridge or abutment to the dock. They are typically either 9" or 18" long and are bent in the middle so that changes in height between the adjoining sections do not cause a gap under the non-hinged side of the plate. The bend allows the plate to go over any uneven edges while still staying flat with the adjoining surface. The aspect that sets our transition plates apart from the rest is that our transition plates are a half inch thick making them durable and outlasting compared to the competition.
Transition Hinge Pins - We weld our pins within the transition plate mount to prevent slippage or theft.
Decking - Through the years we have had the demand to use many different materials for decking including brazillian hardwood (IPE), southern yellow pine (SYP), Timbertech, Latitudes, and Garapa.
Dock Accessories - Electricity, water and communications can all easily be added to your dock system.

Installation - We will go the extra mile to bring your dock to you. We feature full turn-key installation.
